Changes to HCSS Budgeting access

HCSS Budgeting access is changing with “Single Sign On” functionality being launched at the beginning of July. In order access the software the developers require a unique and current email address for users and confirmation by 25th June. Those who have accessed the budgeting software recently will have already been prompted to supply these details. If you have not logged into your HCSS Budgeting software in the last month it is recommended that you do so and follow the guidance provided from the Launch page by selecting “Guidance Notes” and then follow the  “HCSS Product Suite Signing In Guidance” from the list presented.

Drowning Prevention Week

The annual Drowning Prevention Week campaign will run between 15 – 25 June 2018. The campaign, created by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) and this year run in partnership with the RNLI and Swim England, aims to reduce the number of drowning and near-drowning incidences that occur in the UK every year, by showing people how to be safe and have fun near water. The campaign encourages schools, clubs, leisure centres and communities, to promote water safety education through events, lessons, games and activities, in a bid to make people more aware of the dangers of water. arrow Further information and resources

The Herts for Learning Wellbeing Award

Over the last two years Herts for Learning (HfL) advisers have revised and expanded the Healthy Schools Programme to add rigour and reflect new priorities. We have now integrated this revised programme into a new HfL Wellbeing Quality Mark which is available for schools to sign up to. The Herts for Learning Wellbeing Quality Mark has now replaced the Healthy Schools Programme which is no longer recruiting schools. arrow More information

Hertfordshire County Council wants to hear the views of young people whose families have/ are receiving a service from social care. Updates to Online Safety Policy and Acceptable Use Agreements

Please note that we have made a few amendments to the Online Safety Policy and Acceptable Use Agreements, please see version 003 of the policy. Details of the changes made can be found in the ‘Online Safety Updates 22.5.18’ document. HfL has provided the Model Online Safety Policy, including a range of Acceptable Use Agreements and additional guidance that you may wish to use in your school or setting. Please note that this is a ‘model’ policy and can be adapted to meet the needs of your school/ setting. All adaptations should be risk assessed. HfL GDPR compliance statement

As you will be aware, on 25th May 2018, a new landmark privacy law called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) takes effect in the European Union (EU). The GDPR expands the privacy rights granted to EU individuals, and it places many new obligations on organisations that process EU personal data.Herts for Learning (HfL) already has a consistent level of data protection and security across our organisation, and we are actively working towards compliance with the GDPR, for 25th May and beyond. In preparation for GDPR, we have produced a statement which sets out how we comply with the GDPR in the processing of personal data, and how we ensure compliance of third parties. Herts for Learning is celebrating its four-year partnership with confidence specialists, Confident Teens®. Teachers know the impact on learning of friendship difficulties, social media and body worries for teen girls. They see the distraction, anxiety and, sadly all too often, mental health problems that can develop. HCSS Budgeting Software Message

Financial Services have been advised that users of HCSS Budgeting will receive a message when using the software later this week requesting “Email and Organisation Confirmation”. This should be completed with a current, valid organisation email address and the selection of the organisation type from the dropdown box provided. This information is required by HCSS for planned “exiting new developments” of your HCSS product(s).
