Integrated Services for LearningSpecial Educational Needs Team

We are responsible for the delivery of the Local Authority's (LA) statutory duties in relation to the assessment, provision and review of children with complex SEN.

  • We work with a range of people including parents, professionals from education, social care and health agencies to ensure that the individual SEN of children are met within the context of needing to be equitable and managing resources fairly.
  • We coordinate the statutory assessment and review processes, produce Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPS) , identify and commission appropriate provision.
  • We also provide training on statutory processes to schools, parents and other professionals.

There is a named contact SEN officer for every school.
