Integrated Services for LearningSpecial Educational Needs Team

We are responsible for the delivery of the Local Authority's (LA) statutory duties in relation to the assessment, provision and review of children with complex SEN.

  • We work with a range of people including parents, professionals from education, social care and health agencies to ensure that the individual SEN of children are met within the context of needing to be equitable and managing resources fairly.
  • We coordinate the statutory assessment and review processes, produce statements, identify and commission appropriate provision.
  • We also provide training on statutory processes to schools, parents and other professionals.

There is a named contact SEN officer for every school.

Speak to your named SEN officer in the first instance. If you have any further queries please contact your Area Team Manager.

Access to support and advice about individual children from any of our teams in ISL is through a service request form with the exception of requests for statutory assessments of SEN which should go through the established Hertfordshire processes.

The ISL teams will also attend Team Around The Family (TAFs) meetings when appropriate as part of the Common Assessment Framework and Early Support.
