Armed Forces Day – Celebrating those who serve: 27 June 2026
Armed Forces Day is a national celebration held each year in the UK at the end of June to recognise and show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community. This includes those currently serving in the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force, as well as veterans, reservists, cadets, and the families who support them. The day forms part of Armed Forces Week, which aims to increase public understanding of the vital role the Armed Forces play in protecting our country, responding to emergencies, and supporting communities at home and overseas.
By taking part, schools can help pupils develop understanding, respect and awareness of the Armed Forces Community and the values of service and citizenship they represent.
Schools are warmly encouraged to join in using the free, age‑appropriate resources available: www.armedforcesday.org.uk/get-involved/events-toolkits-resources/for-schools/ Explore the history of our Armed Forces, take part in digital tours and revel in real-life training.
