Straight to Teaching is a flexible, accessible and personalised high-quality, low-cost route to QTS.

HFL Education have partnered with Tes Institute to make this route available to suitable staff at Hertfordshire schools and settings at a discounted rate - Please remember to quote code HERTS5.

Aimed at suitable existing staff (such as unqualified teachers and teaching assistants) who want to gain QTS without leaving their school, this unique professional development programme can be undertaken in any setting – state funded, MAT, independent and SEND (including PRU, alternative provision, residential and specialist units).

Depending on their teaching experience your staff could become a qualified teacher in less than one academic year.

The Straight to Teaching programme will help to:

  • bridge recruitment gaps and address teacher shortages
  • increase opportunities to develop and support your existing staff
  • enhance your school’s capacity to grow your own qualified teacher workforce
