Help to fill professional and support vacancies

Last updated on 03 December 2024

We are aware that many schools are struggling to fill essential professional and support roles. To help address this issue, the Teach in Herts team is working closely with the following organisations:

Job Centre

Our local Job Centres have customers who are looking for school hours and/or term time only roles and they are keen to forge closer ties with local schools. Each Job Centre has their own Recruitment Specialist dedicated to working closely with local employers, and their goal is to match suitable candidates to your school vacancies—atno cost! We are working closely with them to identify suitable candidates and will also attend sessions to provide information and guidance to job seekers around working in schools and settings.

Reed in Partnership – volunteers

Reed in Partnership currently have candidates who are eager to pursue careers as teaching assistants but do not yet have any in-school experience. These individuals are either in the process of completing or have already achieved qualifications such as: CACHE Level 3 Teaching Assistant & SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2 (through the Cambridge Regional College) They are enthusiastic, committed, and looking to gain practical experience whilst contributing positively to yours chool community. Would your school be open to offering volunteer opportunities for these candidates?

Step2Skills

We also work closely with Step2Skills, the adult community learning and employment support service from HCC. This month our team attended their Inclusive Jobs Fair in Hemel, and we’ll also be joining their Industry Insight Webinar about careers in education in December.

If your school or setting is interested to explore these opportunities, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us today on teachinherts@hfleducation.org or 01438 544468.
