H&S training courses delivered across the academic year by HCC's H&S Team

Have you got the required Health and safety training in place for staff in key roles?

Health and safety training courses run by the Health and Safety team can be booked online via the HFL Education Hub, the following standard courses are run each term (simply search by course name or course code).

  • Asbestos Management (3 yearly refresher required) Face to Face (HAS-A-003) or webinar (HAS-A-002) Mandated with a minimum of 2 trained staff on site where HCC is the employer.
  • COSHH and Legionella (HAS-A-006) Recommended for site staff undertaking COSHH risk assessments, and those who are responsible for your operational Legionella controls, monthly temperature testing, flushing etc.
  • Fire safety and fire risk assessment (HAS-A-001) where schools are reviewing their fire risk assessments internally then evidence of training in fire risk assessment is required.
  • H&S for Site managers and Caretakers (this also includes the asbestos management training) (HAS-A-005). Considered mandatory where HCC is the employer as a baseline for members of your site team in order to demonstrate a basic level of H&S training. H&S for School Business Managers / Management of H&S (BMS-A-004) Recommended for SBM or member of SLT with responsibility for monitoring / managing H&S within your school.
  • Working at Height (HAS-A-004) Would be mandated where staff are undertaking higher risk work at height activities.
