Opportunities to help improve SEND services through SENCO online feedback group

After our first invitation in December, around 50 SENCOs signed up to be part of the SENCO online feedback group. Thank you to all those who have joined – we are starting to share some (completely optional) tasks and activities that will help us make improvements to Hertfordshire SEND services and help us understand how to support SENCOs better in your challenging roles.

We’re still looking for more SENCOs from schools and settings across Hertfordshire to join us. Sign up to the SENCO online feedback group now:

How will it benefit me and my school?

  • You’ll have a chance to influence decision-making in the council and shape SEND services
  • Networking opportunities - you will be able to hear and discuss topics with SENCOs from different settings and different parts of the county
  • We will use the shared learning to make improvements to how we communicate with you and work in partnership with you to support pupils

What will I be signing up to?

We send you emails every so often (maybe once per month or every few months) requesting your help through different methods. There is no obligation to respond to every email – you can do as little or as much as you want, no pressure. This could be:

  • short surveys asking for your views on issues affecting SEND support in schools
  • invitations to online focus groups and workshops to find out your views on topics which affect your role and SEND provision in schools
  • short online tasks which help us work out if our online information is easy to find and use
  • invitations to meetings or working groups with SEND services (health, social care etc) to progress improvement projects that will have an impact for education settings
  • invitations for 1-1 chats to help us understand the challenges of your role, and where you think improvements can be made

**You can unsubscribe from the group at any time, and you only need to take part in the tasks that interest you, and that you have the time for.

We know that you are very busy – that’s why we’ll try to offer a range of opportunities to suit your whatever your capacity is.
