Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) update - September 2025

An updated version of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) comes into force on 1 September 2025. The DfE has released its information version in advance. The changes are mainly technical but there are significant changes on online safety, AI, filtering and monitoring. The DfE expects to publish revised guidance on:

• Relationships, sex and health education
• Gender questioning children

If these are published over the summer, this will be reflected in the September publication of KCSIE (through updated links, rather than substantial changes).
