Knife Angel coming to Hertfordshire - invite to schools
The spectacular Knife Angel sculpture is coming to Welwyn Garden City town centre (close to the train station) between 1st-30th October 2025. The sculpture, made from over 100,000 seized blades, was specifically created to highlight the negative effects of violent behaviour whilst solidifying our critical need for social change. Not only does the Angel act as a catalyst for turning the tide on violent and aggressive behaviour, but it also acts as a beautiful memorial designed to celebrate those lives who have been lost through these violent and thoughtless actions.
It is the focal point of a month long campaign of activities to raise awareness of anti-violence across the whole of Hertfordshire. A critical part of the campaign is engagement with school children and so we need your involvement by visiting the Knife Angel and activities, and for pupils to become anti violence ambassadors. In addition to the sculpture itself there will be lots of free activities to promote anti- knife crime/violence such as:
- Anti-knife crime theatre group performance
- ‘Lives not knives’
- Events with lived experience speakers
- Stevenage Football Club will be running sessions
- First Aid sessions
- Workshops
- Knife Amnesty
- and lots more!
As part of the Knife Angel Campaign we are delighted to be able to offer Hertfordshire schools 3 options for funded school trips (all that schools will need to provide is transport)
