SEND YPHWS: Young People's Health and Wellbeing Survey
Hertfordshire’s SEND Young People’s Health and Wellbeing Survey gathers self-reported data from young people aged 11-25 with special educational needs and disabilities. It gives young people with SEND the opportunity to share their views on various aspects of their health and wellbeing.
This year (2025/26) is the first year of the launch of the survey, following a pilot in 2024/25. A total of 635 young people responded to the survey, including young people from over 15 specialist SEND schools, young people who are electively home educated, and young people who are not in education.
The results of the 2025/26 SEND Young People's Health and Wellbeing Survey are found here SEND Young People Health and Wellbeing Survey Report. Please use the report to gain a clearer understanding of the needs of young people with SEND and their families, improving the support they offer. The dashboard for the mainstream survey is found here Dashboard.
In November of the 2026/27 school year, the Mainstream and SEND Young People's Health and Wellbeing Survey will be open for responses. If you have any queries about either survey, please email yphws@hertfordshire.gov.uk.
