Updated child protection policy 2024-25

Sept 2024 Update: Appendix 6 within this CP policy template was due for completion in September 2024, however due to service priorities this has been delayed and will be available in due course. For matters relating to concerns and allegations against staff, please utilise the following resources to assist you

The Model Child Protection Policy is now available below. This document replaces the previous version from March 2024.

As you will be aware there were no substantial changes planned for the 2024 version of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) and instead a consultation was launched to inform expected significant changes in 2025. The minor updates and changes to terminology have been summarised in the introductory part of the model policy and have been captured throughout the document, therefore there is no list of exhaustive changes this year. The current published version of KCSiE is for information only so there may be some additional updates once it comes into effect on 1st September 2024.

Although no significant changes have been made to information within the policy, some paragraphs have been reworded to improve their accessibility to readers and some sections have been moved to improve the flow of advice.

Please ensure that you read the model policy fully, taking particular due care where information is highlighted to guarantee that the information reflects your setting, making sure to amend or personalise specific information where appropriate.
