HFL Wellbeing Quality Mark

Last updated on 25 October 2022

The HFL Education WQM is for all schools and offers a comprehensive and detailed self-assessment audit tool to help take a strategic and forensic look into the wellbeing of the whole school community.

The audit tool, using threshold indicators, allows schools to identify and celebrate areas of success and areas for change or development.

The threshold indicators help schools review and reflect on wellbeing in terms of:

  • belonging and inclusion
  • wellbeing and mental health through the curriculum
  • wider wellbeing
  • pupil agency
  • social and cultural capital for wellbeing
  • therapeutic approaches to behaviour and wellbeing
  • staff wellbeing
  • staff training

With the support and guidance from a HFL Wellbeing adviser, schools are invited to use their completed wellbeing self-assessment to develop an ambitious wellbeing project that will add value to the school’s wellbeing offer. Schools have the opportunity to showcase their innovative project and its impact through a half day adviser visit.

School case studies detailing the project journey and impact will be shared on The Grid, helping to show case the school’s commitment to wellbeing and personal development.

The WQM is a three-term programme with the option of extending to four terms if needed. Schools can begin the programme at the start of any term and will be invited to an online meeting to launch the programme. Schools are supported throughout the programme by a HFL Wellbeing Adviser.
