Advice and support including links to examples of Hertfordshire federations
The county council through HFL Governance and Business Management Services will provide advice and support to all governing bodies considering formal collaboration or federation including:
- identifying and maintaining a local authority officer contact, preferably one named contact for consistency, with those governing bodies involved;
- model practices, processes, policies and documentation will be produced, assisting in the provision of information requested by governing bodies such as information about the schools, producing the proposal for governing bodies to consider; process and timescales; (this support is traded), and
- ensuring that formal collaborative or federated governing bodies are included in governor support arrangements and governor training programmes.
For church schools the county council will work in partnership with the Diocesan Board of Education to provide support: Schools Team contacts - The Diocese of St Albans
