Contracts of employment
Due to the variances of terms and conditions across Academies, relevant versions of the above documents are available to Academies who purchase HCC’s services by emailing hrpayrollqueries@hertfordshire.gov.uk
From 6th April 2020 changes to the legislation will mean that employees and workers (note this includes casual and zero hours workers) have the right to be issued with most of the information about their terms and conditions from day one in a single document no later than when they start work.
It will still be possible to provide some information in instalments and/or in another document, within 2 months.
The documents below have been produced for schools to issue prior to the start of the employee or worker. It is advised that the appropriate version be issued with all offer letters in order to ensure the day one requirement is met. The full contract of employment issued by HCC will then cover the fuller requirements but need not be received in advance of an employee or worker starting.
Academy settings may wish to adapt these documents for their own use.
