The DfE’s Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) contains full and detailed guidance on “who” you should check.  Please read “Part Three: Safer Recruitment” section as it provides all the information you need to make safe recruitment and on-boarding decisions.  N.B. There guidance leaflets on a number of specific areas, which are really useful.  These cover some of the areas which result queries from schools;

• 'Regulated Activity' with children
• DBS checks in sport (working with children)
• A guide to school governor and elected councillor roles (this says Wales but is relevant to both England and Wales)
