Young Carers Offer
Support for Young Carers is provided by a Young Carers team within Hertfordshire County Council.
This includes assessments, help with managing caring responsibilities, regular reviews, ensuring the voices of young carers inform the support they receive, and support in preparing for adulthood.
The registration process for young carers is via our new Young Carers webpage. Here you will also find new tools and guidance to help you identify and support young carers.
Schools and professionals working with children, young people and families play a key role in identifying and supporting young carers.
The new Young Carers webpage provides new tools and guidance to help you identify and register young carers from 1st April 2026, and replaces the previous referral process.
All previously registered young carers have been contacted directly to welcome them, provide updated contact information, details on how to access support, however, to ensure accurate and consistent information is available across the system, we are asking schools to:
