As many of you will be aware, since January HCC and HFL Education have sought your views on the support provided to Hertfordshire maintained schools via the core contract. We have listened to your feedback and are making changes as a result. It will soon be time for you to provide us further feedback by voting in the consultation which will be running from 1st to 15th October.

HFL Education has just introduced new resources to the ESSENTIALWRITING curriculum. If you are a current subscriber, you can access the resources at no additional cost and we will be releasing new unit plans for Y1 – Y6 throughout the 2025-26 academic year.

The new ESSENTIALWRITING for Early Years programme has been developed by the HFL Early Years and English specialists to build strong foundations for successful young writers and is available now.

Therapeutic Thinking is one of the local authority’s preferred approaches to supporting positive relational management in schools and settings. We are delighted that from 1^st April 2025, HCC will be working in partnership with HFL Education for the delivery of therapeutic thinking training. This collaboration will further strengthen and improve the county wide relational approach for supporting Hertfordshire schools.
