Updated child protection policy 2023-24

The revised Child Protection Policy for academic year 2023-2024 has been updated in March 2024 in line with changes/updates in statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023). This document replaces the previous version from September 2023 and is operational from March 2024.

Free Cyber Security and Cyber Choices sessions

Colleagues from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit’s Cyber Protect and Cyber Choices team will continue to deliver two popular school-focused events at multiple dates throughout the current academic year. These are a 1-hour webinar is designed and delivered by a former teacher to highlight basic cyber security advice that will help individuals improve their personal cyber security and by extension that of their school and a 2 hour webinar designed for school governors.

Keeping children safe in education update - September 2023

An updated version of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) comes into force on 1 September 2023. There aren't any big changes this year, but the updates include a new emphasis on IT filtering and monitoring systems with a role for boards in making sure standards are met in this area. Other changes include clarification of the term 'children missing education' and how it's different to 'children absent from education'.
