Children and Young People's Therapy Service

Last updated on 24 May 2024

The Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust Children and Young People’s Therapy Service provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy for children and young people in Hertfordshire.

Children and Young People's Therapy Service

The integrated therapies service delivers holistic support for a child or young person’s needs, under one provider, with multidisciplinary working across the three clinical therapy professions.

Our focus is on maximising children and young people’s functional skills and abilities to support them to be happy, healthy, safe and independent at home and in school. We share the vision of our partners in Hertfordshire County Council to ensure every child has the best possible start in life and the best opportunities throughout their education.

Children's speech & language therapy
The children and young people’s (CYP) speech and language therapy service offers a child- and family-centred approach to support CYP with speech, language, communication needs (SLCN) and those with eating and drinking difficulties in Hertfordshire.

Children's physiotherapy
The CYP Physiotherapy service is for CYP who have a physical disability, pain or condition that impacts on their development and their functional daily activities at home or in school.

Children's occupational therapy
The children’s occupational therapy service offers a child and family-centred approach to support children and young people with their independence in all aspects of daily living, such as self-feeding, dressing and participating in play and school activities.

Children’s sensory service
Sensory differences are life long and may change and develop over time. The sensory service uses a three-tiered service to empower and coach parents, carers, families and schools to self-manage sensory differences of neuro-divergent children and young people.

Referrals to this service can be made via the Occupational Therapy referral form.
