RSHE audit
Last updated on 27 July 2023
HCC commissioned an audit for all Hertfordshire state-funded schools. The survey had 3 important aims:
- to identify where schools are on their journey to fully embed the RSHE statutory requirements
- to identify any further signposting that could support RSHE delivery
- to gather some information on how confident schools feel about ensuring inclusion for all and the teaching of safeguarding within the RSHE curriculum and delivery
A short, recorded presentation has been made that highlights key information arising from the collective survey findings. We hope it will support subject leaders, RSHE teachers and governors/trustees to revisit their provision and practice and to plan their future areas for further development.
The feedback is divided into three separate sections with focuses on
Curriculum delivery
- 1 Timetabling
- 2 Who teaches RSHE
- 3 Use of visitors
- 4 Staff training
- 5 Topic coverage
- 6 Assessment
Inclusion and pupil withdrawal
- 1 Inclusion
- 2 Pupils excused from ‘sex education’
Curriculum development, resourcing, leadership and governance
- 1 Subject leadership & Governance
- 2 Subject Leadership
- 2 Resourcing RSHE
- 3 RSE/PSHE policy
- 4 Priorities 2022-23
We look forward to seeing you in your school or at our central courses.
Please continue to tell us your needs and priorities so that we can respond wellbeing@hfleducation.org
