School travel plans

School travel plans offer practical measures to promote active, healthy, safe and sustainable travel to and from nurseries, schools and colleges. Hertfordshire County Council use the national on-line accreditation travel plan system, Modeshift STARS:

As part of the accreditation progress for a school travel plan on Modeshift STARS Hertfordshire County Council’s Active & Safer Travel team is able to offer a range of road safety initiatives from Year 6 to Reception that can be delivered to your school to develop the life skills to encourage more active and independent travel.

Modeshift STARS empowers organisations by providing a centre of excellence for developing, delivering and monitoring effective travel plans. Modeshift is a not-for-profit membership organisation that exists to increase levels of active and sustainable in business, education and community settings.
