Relationships, sex and health education in SEND settings
Taking place on 13th November, this half-day facilitated by the Hertfordshire County Council Educational Psychology Service focuses on RSHE in specialist SEND settings and is for PSHE / RSHE leads, SENCOs, teaching staff and members of the senior leadership team who are supporting learners with additional and unique learning needs.

National Inclusion Week 2024 - therapeutic school environments for inclusion
There are some remarkable examples of inclusive education in Hertfordshire. National Inclusion Week was set up to promote inclusion in workplaces, but we know the journey to this starts much earlier. Inclusive school environments allow children and young people with SEND to access learning, engage with their peers and be ready for their next steps after education. We want to tell you about some of the excellent practice happening in Hertfordshire.
Supporting your neurodivergent child
Hertfordshire County Council and the NHS are delighted to share with you the exciting and new Supporting your Neurodivergent Child handbook that has been developed for Hertfordshire parent/carers and professionals. The Neurodiversity Handbook has useful resources, support and signposting on a whole range of things relating to Neurodiversity.
EHCP Annual Review training for schools and settings
The SEND Academy is offering free EHCP Annual Review training for schools and settings. The training is for all staff who complete annual reviews for children and young people who have an EHCP to support them with the annual review process.
Hertfordshire SEND Festival of Practice launch event
In October, Hertfordshire County Council are holding a SEND Festival of Practice to connect practitioners and enable professionals to learn from each other. The in-person launch event on 8th October will offer inspiring workshops and discussions.
Hertfordshire SEND Toolkit (6th edition) available now
Hertfordshire's SEND Toolkit has been updated for 2024-25 with a contemporary design and improved accessibility features. The free toolkit is an essential resource supporting schools and SENCOs to deliver high quality SEN provision; packed with helpful information, useful tools and resources and links to a wide range of national and local guidance.

Hertfordshire SEND Festival of Practice
The Quality Assurance Policy & Practice Team are facilitating a SEND Festival of Practice to be held between 8th to 11th October 2024. The theme of the event is “The Voice of the Child/Young Person”. The event is intended to act as a learning and celebratory showcase event that demonstrates the fantastic work being delivered across the SEND Partnership.
