Hertfordshire's SEND Toolkit has been updated for 2026-27 with refreshed guidance to support mainstream school leaders and SENCOs in the transition towards an education system that is ‘inclusive by design’. This fully funded toolkit is an essential resource supporting mainstream schools to deliver high quality, inclusive SEN provision; packed with helpful information, useful tools and resources and links to a wide range of national and local guidance.

Hertfordshire’s SEND Young People’s Health and Wellbeing Survey gathers self-reported data from young people aged 11-25 with special educational needs and disabilities. It gives young people with SEND the opportunity to share their views on various aspects of their health and wellbeing.

Guidance on adaptations and reasonable adjustments a local authority expects to be made available for children and young people with SEND in early years settings, mainstream schools, and colleges.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the fully funded Hertfordshire Induction programme for SENCOs, created in partnership with HFL Education, Hertfordshire SEND Services, DSPL areas and Hertfordshire’s SEND Academy.

Following the successful development of a suite of Specialist Resource Provisions across the county, providing additional support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to access a mainstream curriculum, two new facilities are proposed to open in primary schools in Stevenage and Hemel Hempstead from September 2025.
