EHCP Annual Review training for schools and settings

The SEND Academy is offering free EHCP Annual Review training for schools and settings. The training is for all staff who complete annual reviews for children and young people who have an EHCP to support them with the annual review process.

Hertfordshire County Council publishes Independent Review into EHC assessment process findings

An independent review has found that Hertfordshire County Council is delivering improvements to its Education Health Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process and that there is no deliberate policy to apply too high a threshold in determining whether to carry out an EHCNA.

Hertfordshire students get a sneak peek at their new SEND school

The new James Marks Academy is a new communication and autism secondary school currently being constructed in Welwyn Garden City. This new school is part of the council’s aim to provide increased communication and autism provision, through a graduated offer, across the county. Whilst most children with autism can have their needs met in mainstream schools, through quality inclusive teaching, some need more targeted support.

New facility to support students with SEND at Bushey Meads secondary school

A new facility to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), at Bushey Meads secondary school, was officially opened by Hertfordshire Council Council’s Director of Inclusion and Skills, Hero Slinn, on Tuesday 13 February at an event attended by the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire and the Mayor of Hertsmere.
