Property frameworks
Hertfordshire County Council has a Property Works Frameworks. They provide the Authority, and a number of other local public sector bodies including schools, with access to a wide range of property maintenance, management and construction services.
The Property Works Framework is split into specific lots which include:
Lot 1 – Asbestos Removal
Lot 2 – Roofing
Lot 3 - Window Walling
Lot 4 - Heating, Cooling, Ventilation Systems and Electrical Systems
Lot 5 – Refurbishments

Framework use liability
Whilst the frameworks will offer a relatively safe environment for procurement of works or services when compared to the open market, service provision is not risk free. Schools and governing bodies need to be aware that the award or calling-off of works or services from a Framework, following mini-competition, is the point at which a contractual relationship is made between the schools or governing body and the contractor. Therefore, the liability for any risks associated with an award or call-off sits solely with the schools or governing body and the contractor.
Provision of security services
The Property team at Hertfordshire County Council carried out an Open Tender procedure in October 2023 for the Provision of Security Services. This contract includes a range of services such as static guarding, mobile guarding patrols, CCTV and keyholding. Regent Office care t/a Samsic UK were successful in being awarded the contract which started on 1st December 2023.
